Start of Eid Al Fitr in the UAE announced
Dubai: Friday is the first day of Eid Al Fitr, the UAE Shawal Moon Sighting Committee announced on Wednesday. The committee, headed by Dr. Hadef Jua'an Al Daheri, Minister of Justice, said during a press conference yesterday that after a number of legitimate measures, as well as several contacts with neighbouring countries, it was established that Thursday is the last day of Ramadan, and Friday is the first day of Shawwal, hence the first day of Eid Al Fitr in the UAE. Al Daheri and the committee members extended greetings to President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates and Crown Princes, as well as to the people of UAE and Muslims. http://gulfnews.com/in-focus/ramadan/start-of-eid-al-fitr-in-the-uae-announced-1.679498 |
