Holiday for public, private sectors

The Federal ministries and entities will be off work next Tuesday, the 1st of January 2013, to mark the New Year, according to a circular issued today by Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qattami, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Federal Government Human Resources Authority.

The circular, which is based on the provisions of paragraph 5, article No 100 of the cabinet decision No 13 of 2010 of the Federal Law and No 11 of 2008 on government human resources, stated work will resume on Wednesday, January 2, 2013.

Workers and employees in the private sector institutions and companies will also get a one-day paid holiday on the first of January 2013 to mark the New Year.

On the occasion, he congratulated President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates and prayed for the progress and prosperity for UAE, Arab and Islamic countries.
